The Clare Valley SCA Gourmet Week has been deemed a great success with sold out events across the 10-day program held last week – making it one of the most successful over its 38-year-old history.

Celebrating the best of the region’s wine, paired with food and entertainment across the stunning Clare Valley wine region – around 8000 guests immersed themselves in an exciting events program said events spokesperson for the Clare Valley SCA Gourmet Week, Ms Belinda Heinrich.

“More than 60 unique events at 30 different wineries and restaurants throughout the region were involved this year, making it the biggest annual event to date. Approximately 2000 tickets were sold over the 10 days and we were thrilled to incorporate the Land of the Long Lunch for the first time – which was a standout addition to the 10-day format.

“The first Clare Valley Gourmet Weekend was held in 1985, making this event the oldest of its kind in Australia and a tradition now for lovers of food and wine in what is now an iconic regional celebration,” she said.

Presented by Southern Cross Austereo, the 2022 event showcased Clare Valley hospitality synonymous with delicious food, local wine and great live entertainment.

“The 2022 Clare Valley SCA Gourmet Week would not have been possible without the support of our local community, and major sponsors, Southern Cross Austereo and the South Australian Tourism Commission. We would also like to thank the wineries involved, as well as the organisers, who have worked hard all year to makethe event possible,” Ms Heinrich said.

From garden parties and bonfires, long lunches, markets, and art classes, the 2022 Clare Valley SCA Gourmet Week was a fantastic celebration of all the Clare Valley has to offer.

This kick started the traditional classic Gourmet Weekend on Saturday 14th and Sunday 15th May, with wineries opening their cellar doors in collaboration with food producers, entertainers and live music, all linked by shuttle buses over the two days.
